Our booth served as an interactive hub designed to demonstrate the practical steps manufacturers can take toward data integration across the short floors, as a foundation for any AI applications and workflow optimisations. It combined hands-on technology with branded items to create a welcoming and memorable experience that encouraged conversation and exploration. 

Marian Ciupeiu stepped on the stage  

A highlight of our participation was the keynote speech delivered by Marian Ciupeiu, Head of Biz Tech Consultancy MMi at Accesa, on the Smart Arena stage. The session focused on two contrasting yet effective strategies for building a scalable data platform and enabling AI: a use-case-first approach and a platform-first approach, both illustrated through hands-on and real-life examples. The presentation emphasised the central role of data, integration, and modernisation, grouped under the overarching digital transformation theme, as essential enablers for sustainable AI scaling in Manufacturing.

The disconnected systems 

While OEE Monitoring Dashboards and Predictive Maintenance are familiar, others still struggle with the disconnected systems: data silos, capturing PLC data, and integrating this data so it makes sense. 

Expert retention 

The retention of experts and knowledge has become an important issue, particularly as organisations work to sustain critical competencies while newer generations of professionals struggle to keep pace with an ageing workforce. How do we capture this knowledge, but more importantly, how do we fruitfully structure and prepare it so that it can be put to good use?   

The need for data platforms 

While lean management practices are common, some factories still run these processes in a highly manual or Excel driven way, which could also be a great use case for putting the foundations of a data platform. 

Understanding these details helps us tailor our approach to each market and strengthen relationships effectively.
