This spring, we celebrated 18 years in the IT industry and a team of 1,000 people and joined forces with plantam fapte bune in romania to plant 1,000 trees, one for each of our 1,000 creative problem-solvers.

For the last 18 years, we've been building a culture in which people form genuine connections and care for each other, as individuals, as well as for the broader community. By adopting environmentally-friendly policies, supporting green initiatives, and encouraging our employees and collaborators to embrace a socially responsible lifestyle, we contribute to a more sustainable future.

Lowering our impact on the environment has been one of our areas of focus for the past three years. During this time, we’ve successfully implemented selective waste collection procedures and we’ve also been reducing our e-waste by donating laptops and devices to charities, schools and informatics labs, facilitating access to learning resources for children in rural areas.

In 2020, we also transitioned from paper notebooks and embraced reusable ones, made of 100% recycled materials to further reduce our impact on the environment.

This May, together with our partner Plantam Fapte Bune in Romania, a national NGO with over 10 years of experience in reforestation and afforestation, we planted one thousand pine trees in Valea Ierii, Cluj County, of which 500 with the support of our colleagues.

According to Global Forest Watch Cluj County is among the top 5 regions responsible for 50% of our country’s tree cover loss, after Suceava, Harghita and Maramures, due to urbanisation, wildfire or shifting agriculture. By bringing our team together to plant a forest, aside from reducing our carbon footprint and helping combat climate change, we enjoyed a memorable experience that brought us closer and made us feel that we were part of something greater than us.

Contributing Towards a Sustainable Future

Enjoying broad support from a network of 44,000 volunteers, Plantam Fapte in Romania planted 524 ha in 35 counties in Romania in 2021. With our contribution, they’ve reached a new milestone of 2.5 million trees planted since they started their mission to create and safeguard our forests.

Furthermore, we will keep encouraging our community of IT professionals to recycle at the office while embracing a sustainable lifestyle and continue to reduce our e-waste by donating old computer devices to charity.
