Cluj-Napoca, Romania, August 2023 – Accesa, a leading technology company with offices across Romania and in Munich, as well, celebrated a decade of creating value through collaboration with MediaMarktSaturn Retail Group, EU's leading consumer electronics retailer and provider of related services, by hosting an anniversary hackathon at their headquarters in Cluj-Napoca. During two intense days of close collaboration, mixed teams from both companies developed solutions leveraging Generative AI and VR/AR technologies to bring innovation into their customers' experience.
By combining expertise from both companies, three teams designed creative solutions using ChatGPT and VR/AR technologies to push the Retail industry forward through a more innovative customer experience. A jury of representatives from both organisations evaluated the ideas based on their business potential, the value they might create for the clients and their end-customers, feasibility, technical execution, and scalability.
"The Accesa & MediaMarktSaturn hackathon brought a lot of great ideas and confirmed a fantastic collaboration between the participants. Deciding who the winners were, took a lot of work, especially as all three teams and their ideas were impressive." - Adina Suciu, Co-CEO at Accesa and one of the jury's members
The AIssistant won the Business Potential Award. Acting as a personal shopping consultant, the solution powered by AI eases customers' buying decisions with real-time product recommendations based on price, features, market trends, user feedback, and consumer's real need.
The Low Hanging Fruit Award was granted to the Review Assistant for its strategic approach to leveraging ChatGPT. The solution helps online clients make quick and informed buying decisions by analysing customers' reviews and extracting valuable insights.
rooMMS received the Technical Achievement Award. Using VR/AR, the team envisioned a feasible solution to help customers test how a product would fit into their home, office or workspace and decide whether to buy it or not.
"I'm so proud of the teams who came up with creative solutions aligned to today's consumers' needs, proving once again that we are problem-solvers focused on creating shared value for our clients and the broader community. Looking forward to the next 10 years of collaboration with MediaMarktSaturn!" – Dr. Andrea Marlière, CEO at Accesa
The joint effort of the 44 developers, testers and scrum masters involved in the competition led to feasible and viable technical solutions MediaMarktSaturn will further develop in partnership with Accesa.
