Accelerate and innovate your commerce solution by migrating to SAP CCv2 to enhance flexibility, time-to-market, and UX and benefit from increased security, performance and scalability.
THE END-TO-END MIGRATION JOURNEY
Assessment
We start with assessing your existing system in terms of performance and readiness for migration, considering potential challenges and your future business needs.

Analysis
Based on the assessment report, we analyse all the dependencies, platform integrations, and configurations and determine whether there is a need for code adaptation.

Project Proposal
We create a project master plan that includes a timeline, key stakeholders and dependencies, main activities and all other details needed to ensure a smooth migration.

DevOps Processes Adaptation
We adopt DevOps best practices to minimise any business disruption during migration to CCv2 and keep efficient collaboration and communication between teams.

Code & Integration Adaptations
As not all legacy code is compatible with SAP CCv2, our teams adapt or replace it, ensuring that the new system covers all previous functionalities.

Data Migration & Clean Up
We migrate the database and media files and conduct sanitisation to ensure a clean slate, which is ideal for adopting cloud-native best practices.

Performance Evaluation & Tuning
We thoroughly test and benchmark the platform's & database's performance and tune code and memory usage.

Deployment & Monitoring
We adapt or define monitoring tools to ensure long-term value, train staff in how to best use the new platform and deploy the new, cloud-centric solution.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why should I consider migrating to SAP Commerce Cloud on the Public Cloud?
SAP is continuing its effort to encourage its customers to make the leap to the public cloud. SAP Commerce version 2105 has reached End of Mainstream Maintenance (EOMM) on August 19, 2023, while the only supported on-premise version is 2205, which will also enter EOMM on July 31, 2026 (when running on-premise). Until then, it will only receive critical security patches and limited bug fixes. On the cloud, version 2205 will reach EOMM on May 31, 2024, after which the only supported version will be 2211. In this context, migration to the cloud and upgrading to the latest release becomes less of a choice and more of a necessity.
What does CCv2 offer over the previous versions of SAP?
The second generation of the popular cloud-based e-commerce platform comes equipped with enhanced business features that provide scalability, flexibility, and faster time-to-market for businesses. The improved performance and scalability handle high volumes of traffic and transactions and are ideal for larger enterprises. The cloud infrastructure is more secure than on-premises solutions due to the specialised expertise and resources available for security purposes.
CCv2 incorporates a more intuitive design, making navigation and configuration more user-friendly. It also provides a modular approach, allowing businesses to independently develop, deploy, and scale specific functionalities.
What core SAP Commerce Cloud components can be migrated to CCv2?
The following components are typically migrated to the new architecture: database scheme and data, custom extensions from the on-premise system (e.g., data feed, fraud detection), storefront theme, templates, and other customisations, all customer & product data, all configuration settings (e.g., CRM), integrations that connect the on-premise system to other software (e.g., ERP), historical data (e.g., customer purchase history, order history).
