Challenges

Our client’s biggest challenge is to find a way to supply process control instrumentation with accurate measuring and control option for the water treatment industry, offering cost effective equipment that provides the users with a low maintenance, highly reliable reading, simplicity and efficiency.  

Our approach

Throughout our collaboration, the team was involved in all development stages, including mapping the infrastructure of the devices and creating the software architecture. We are continually working together with our client to help identify business needs in order to improve the functionality, user interface and the design of all applications. 

In order to create a clear vision about our client’s business, every new member attends several knowledge sharing sessions and new members have a mentor/buddy assigned. The sessions include different types of subjects, starting with general ones (client’s industry, used applications, goals), and ending with subjects which are related to the new member’s area of expertise. We do that by: 

  • Having a proactive attitude and taking care of our client’s applications and devices in order to always provide him with the best solution to improve device functionality, ability to control and monitor it remotely, analyze all data and reduce the time for customer support.  
  • Analyzing the actual need of the client, not only the technical problem that has to be solved. We keep in mind the big picture and the business challenges the client tries to solve. We come up with the best solution for all identified requirements, sometimes with improvements in areas where not explicitly requested. 
  • Implementing new techniques and upgrade infrastructure in order to reduce costs and increase the processing speed of the client’s applications. 

The team has developed a strong connection with the client’s main stakeholders which allowed the team the ability and freedom to express their ideas for further developing the infrastructure and the processes. Most of the suggestions have already been implemented and we were able to upgrade design for the devices and web services, reduce the complexity of device handling, improve customer support and response time.

Results

By partnering with Accesa, the client benefits from a stable and custom solution for his needs that includes: 

  • Data analysis speed improved – Due to the implementation of our Data Lake and ETL jobs we have reduced the response time of getting answers to our clients from their data by over 10 times. The Data Lake also allows our customer to connect PowerBI reports to our Data Lake much easier and he can get updated insights much faster than before. 
  • Smarter devices – Building on the analysis of the data, we have trained machine learning models and statistical models that allow our client to tune their devices much easier and also allow the devices to handle more scenarios with less human intervention. 
  • Increased usability – Building the next generation of monitoring devices, with an improved design and interface, we helped our client with reducing customer support time and increase quality of each device installation and functionality. The interaction with the device was simplified by implementing help option and notifications for each functionality.  
  • Web performance improved- Due to the upgrade for the web application using Frontend (Angular) the performance was increased, reducing the necessary time to remotely control a device and supporting robust data reports. 
  • Remote connection – Creating mobile applications that are used to record manual readings for regulated industries, the client can remotely access data reports and upload all collected data as soon as the device gains access to the internet. This helps with data accuracy at all times
