Last Friday, on the 3rd of July, Babes-Bolyai University organized “Graduation Day”, a project fair where graduates from the University presented their theses. It was a moment of distinctive recognition of the graduates efforts and merits and an opportunity for the companies to remark and award some of the best projects. As a partner of the University, we were more than happy to join the initiative and empower UBB graduates in their journey to transform the world through innovation.
The event gathered more than 50 graduates who presented their theses, of which 10-15 were awarded by the companies. Accesa offered a special grant of 3.000 Euros for an idea we believe brings value by answering to a real need on the market. Moreover, we’ll provide unparalleled menthorship during its implementation.
So, what caught our attention? The idea we awarded is a remote cinema app which aims to offer a shared cinema experience between people from different geographical areas. The app is a metro style app with top tier technologies targeted in Windows 8.1/Windows Azure. Besides the approach in identifying a real need and bringing an applicable solution, we admired the entrepreneurial spirit, the passion for building something great, the courage to achieve big goals.
All in all, we met young people who presented many great ideas that were worth to put into practice. We are pleased to support young talents, as IT students, and help them turn ideas into reality, because “an idea can have value, but it becomes valuable only when it is implemented”, said Iulian Iuga, Accesa’s CEO. We believe passion and courage are two values that inspire innovation and by participating at this event we highlighted one of our endeavors: to encourage entrepreneurial spirit and innovation in Cluj.
Congratulations to UBB for the initiative, to graduates who had the courage to showcase their theses and to companies that believed in their ideas. We are looking forward to the next edition!
